At the First Annual State of the County address on February 6, 2008, the Utah County Commission announced that Pacific States Cast Iron Company located in Provo, UT has been named as one of two Businesses of the Year. Rapid growth in the Utah County area has strengthened the area's economic development and the county wanted to recognize businesses that contribute to the county. Pacific States employs about 340 people in the Provo area.
