ASCAP Donates Rides for Polar Express
Jan 21, 2010

Since its formation in 2004, the Atlantic States Community Advisory Panel ("ASCAP") has continued to be very active in and around Phillipsburg, New Jersey.  One project that was very successful for the ASCAP in 2008 and again in 2009 was the Polar Express held every year close to Christmas.  The ASCAP donated 70 tickets for local children and their families to ride the popular Polar Express.  Before the ride, the families gathered at the Blessed Hope Church where they were served pizza and cake.  The children arrived dressed in their pajamas and were met by Mayor Harry Wyant who presented them their very own conductor's hat.

This year, the Polar Express conductors were kind enough to reserve an entire car so the ASCAP group could enjoy the experience together.  During the almost two hour ride, the children saw Santa, drank hot chocolate and received their own Christmas bell.  The smiles on the faces of the children as Santa made his rounds through the train were priceless!
