McWane, Inc. was a sponsor at the 104th Birthday Bash for Vulcan which was held on June 1, 2008 at Vulcan Park in Birmingham, Alabama. An Environmental Awareness Exhibit was displayed which featured the Water Treatment System at McWane Cast Iron Pipe Company and the Blue Green Award which they were awarded in connection with this System. The Exhibit also featured some actual samples of pipe which were made at McWane facilities.
Reusable shopping bags with the McWane logo were given to everyone attending the event. Other sponsors at the event were The McWane Center, The Green Resource Center, the Birmingham Zoo and even the Magic City Clowns who painted children's faces and made incredible balloon animals. There was plenty of ice cream and cookies for everyone and a good time was had by all.
