Employees Elected Officers by EWI

The Birmingham Chapter of Executive Women International ("EWI") held elections and Heather Knighten, at McWane, Inc.'s corporate office, was elected to serve as Vice President/President Elect.  Heather has been with McWane for 8 years and her responsibilities include administering cash consolidation systems and balancing cash and administering the property and casualty system.  

 

Before being elected to the office of Vice President/President Elect for EWI, Heather served as the Birmingham Chapter Scholarship Chairman, Membership Chairman, Treasurer and Delegate to two International Annual Meetings.  She has been a member since 2005.  McWane, Inc. has been a member firm since 1985 and was voted Firm of the Year in 1990 and 2006.  

 

Linda Cordor, the Credit Manager at Amerex, was elected to serve as Ways & Means Director.  Lindas responsibilities at Amerex include managing bad debt, posting cash, and accounts receivable.  Linda has been with Amerex for 12 years and has been a member of EWI since 2007. 

For those of you who are not familiar with EWI, it was established in 1938 when Lucille Johnson Perkins recognized the importance and potential of an association of key women working with their executives to promote their firms and improve the community.  Over 3,000 companies and 3,500 representatives are members of EWI today in 75 chapters located in major cities in the United States, Canada, and Europe.  EWI is the premier organization for networking and leadership development for today's business professional and their firms.

 

The mission of EWI is to bring together key individuals from diverse businesses for the purpose of promoting member firms, enhance personal and professional development, and encourage community involvement.
