Clow Valve Partner with OSHA
Nov 5, 2008

On October 29, 2008, a team from Federal OSHA spent the day benchmarking ergonomic improvements at Clow Valve, Oskaloosa, Iowa.  Dorothy Dougherty, Director of the Office of Compliance and Standards, Jim Maddux and Joanna Sznyder, Office of Physician Hazards and Miriam Joffe, Auburn Engineers, Inc. met with Clow Valves Ergonomic Committee and toured the Metal Casting Facility and Machine Shops to review implemented ergonomic enhancements.  The OSHA team is partnering with various foundries in anticipation of writing ergonomic guidelines for the foundry industry.

During the day-long visit, the OSHA team was able to interact with employees and learn how ergonomic improvements have reduced injuries and increased productivity.  The team was also able to offer suggestions for additional improvements in several areas.

The OSHA team was extremely complimentary, not only of the hospitality, the superior condition of the facility, and the work of the committee, but also of the excellent employee-management relationships they observed.

Congratulations to all at Clow Valve for making McWane proud by showcasing Health & Safety Excellence!!
