Clow Valve Win's Judge's Trophy
Dec 29, 2008

This year marked the 16th Anniversary of the Oskaloosa Lighted Christmas Parade.  Clow Valve's entry consisted of nine elaborately decorated cars which were lit with nearly 2,000 lights and animated with dancing trees, flying reindeer and sleigh, a miniature train and teddy bears riding a hand car.  Some of the stuffed animals were donated to the Mahaska Hospital Ambulance Service to be used to calm traumatized children.  The Clow Valve entry honored the current and recent military veterens by naming the entry Welcome Home Veterans.

We are proud to announce that Clow's Train won the Judges' trophy.

Special thanks to the Project Coordinator Bob Bateson, the Driver Roy Winkleman, Deb Stephan, Mary Wanders, Doris Armstrong , Caleb Birch, Leroy Systma and the many others who worked on this 120 foot long train.

The employees at Clow Valve also purchased a mountain of gifts for needy children in Mahaska County who might otherwise not have received a gift for Christmas.  Each year the Southern Iowa Economic Development Association (SIEDA) provides Clow with the names, agest and gender of children who need help.  Each child also furnishes a wish list.  Clow employees then buy gifts and take them to the Oskaloosa SIEDA office for distribution tot he children.

It is such an honor and a privilege to be able tot  provide gifts for these children.
