Kennedy Valve Goes LEAN Mar 16, 2009
Kennedy Valve has shown great commitment to competing in a difficult economy. In February 2008, the McWane, Inc. division adopted a rigorous business philosophy called LEAN. This tried and true approach, modeled after the Toyota Production System, incorporates refined methods that date back to Henry Ford. LEAN's long-term goals are to consistently exceed: · customer expectations of quality products delivered on time · employee requirements for a healthy, safe workplace · community needs for service and environmental stewardship To date, Kennedy Valve employees from the floor and management have joined for 14 Rapid Improvement Events (RIE). Lasting four and ½ days, the intensive program trains participants to define, plan, and implement improvements for the company. These meetings have already proven a powerful tool in addressing problem areas and enhancing customer value.
