Amerex Team Member Receives Award Jul 23, 2009
Amerex team member Craig Voelkert was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding service and commitment to the fire protection industry by the National Association of Fire Equipment Distributors (NAFED) at the May conference in Kansas City. NAFED is a trade association representing more than 1,000 fire equipment distributors in the United States. The award was presented by Darrell Hefley, the current president of NAFED and CALSAFE (California's distributor association) and CEO of Jorgensen Company, a valued Amerex distributor. In attendance were more than 300 distributors who gave Craig a well-deserved standing ovation. As Vice President for Special Hazards at Amerex, Craig supports sales efforts with training and technical guidance on every type of potable extinguisher for every type of system. He conducts classes for all fire code officials as well as distributors and industrial companies such as Chevron, DuPont, Texaco, and Exxon. Additionally, Craig oversees all product liability matters at Amerex. Craig serves as Chairman of the Fire Equipment Manufacturers Association ( FEMA) Government Relations Committee and is the primary representative to NAFED. He supports and participates with every state distributor association and is a member of several National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) committees and International Code Council (ICC) committees. Also a firefighter instructor, Craig has written several articles published in domestic and foreign trade magazines, including NFPA's Fire Journal.
