First Place – Manchester Tank and Equipment, Elkhart
Manchester Tank and Equipment, Elkhart team took home the first place trophy for their new two piece paint hook system project. This project has significantly reduced the risk of a potential hand and wrist injuries due to repetitive motions and reduced thread leaks during the washing process by more than 69%.

Second Place – Manchester Tank and Equipment, Quincy The Manchester Tank and Equipment, Quincy team designed and installed a special pneumatic lift mechanism to eliminate the need to manually lift a 56 pound head place it onto a roller conveyor. Prior to this lift mechanism, the operator, on average would produce 150 tanks per 8 hour shift. The installation of this pneumatic lift significantly reduced the required manual handling process.

Third Place – Tyler CouplingThe Tyler Coupling Team designed and built a roll-off mold setter fixture that eliminated the need to push and pull dies in and out of a new vertical press. This innovative design incorporated multi-directional rollers and a simple winch with a battery powered drill that turned a difficult two person task with awkward push & pull postures into a simple task that the person can do without any pushing or pulling.
