McWane Ductile and Consolidated Pipe & Supply have partnered with Louisville Water, the North Nelson Water District, and the City of Bardstown on a transformative infrastructure initiative, being constructed in part by Dirt Works Contracting:
Along with other partners, McWane Ductile will supply over 38,000 feet of pipe for a 24-inch main along Highway 245.
This system will connect North Nelson directly to Louisville Water’s Ohio River supply, adding up to 15 million gallons per day of clean water capacity for Nelson County properties, residents and businesses.
The investment totals $29 million, with construction already underway and scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. The Kentucky Public Service Commission approved the project in February 2025.
This impactful project ensures long-term water reliability for local communities and supports Bardstown’s commercial & industrial sectors –including distilleries that consume up to 25% of the region’s daily water. This project also aligns with McWane's commitment to delivering high‑quality, durable, corrosion‑resistant Ductile iron pipe that supports critical water infrastructure across communities.
